Ngaruawahia United AFC and Western United AFC have entered into a 5 year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create a solid pathway for junior players at both clubs.
The collaborative approach ensures that junior and youth players from both clubs have facilities and player numbers to create competitive teams in the WaiBOP Federation’s youth leagues and then on into senior football.
Western United AFC is a junior club with a playing base of over 250 kids.
Ngaruawahia United AFC is a junior and senior club with over 150 members across all ages.
The MOU is a partnership approach to developing talent in the area.
Glenn McLennan, President of Western United AFC is excited to link up with a club that he enjoyed playing senior football for and knows of the supportive family environment that exists there.
For Ngaruawahia United AFC, this continues the focus on junior footballers and creating a sustainable, self-developed player base to grow a competitive senior football club.
