WaiBOP Football

The Challenge Shield is played for in the highest level of competition in the WaiBOP Area, which in 2024 is the NRFL Southern Conference.

The competition works on similar rules to rugby’s Ranfurly Shield, with the club holding the shield defending it when playing at home.
It has previously been contested in the WaiBOP Premiership, and before that, the Fed 1 league.
