WAIKATO DIOCESAN SCHOOL FOR GIRLS

Are you a passionate and experienced sports coach ready to inspire the next generation of female athletes?

Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is seeking highly qualified coaches to lead our Premier Netball, 1st XI Football, and 1st XI Hockey team. We are also on the lookout for a Volleyball coach for our Senior A team.

The ideal candidates will have a philosophy around coaching secondary school girls which balances a performance based programme in pursuit of excellence with the interests of the girls at heart. We want coaches who have the ability to engage the girls and build rapport and trust recognising their academic demands and holistic development. Our coaches will embody our school values and contribute to our sporting mission of developing well-rounded young women who are confident, resilient, and committed to their sport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement training programs that align with our school's sporting philosophy and values.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and fair play.
  • Identify and nurture talented athletes through a robust pathway program.
  • Prepare athletes for competition at various levels, from local to national.
  • Promote the school's sporting culture and encourage participation in a range of sports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g, NZC Level 2 or higher).
  • Proven experience coaching at secondary school level or higher.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for developing young athletes.
  • A commitment to our school's values and mission.
  • Police Vetting will be required and carried out by the school.
